Haha, ok this journal entry is a bit overdue, but it's all about my little excursion to London to see Blur!

Day 1
I slept for most of the way to LOndon, because I hadn't slept much the night before, but when I woke up, the camera came out and I was taking pictures of everything, until I eventually got told to stop wasting the battery xD
We were staying at one of the hotels right next to the London Excel centre, which was really cool - making me even more excited for the october expo!
The tubes to the concert were absolutely amazing, especially the huge escalators. When we finally got to Hyde Park, it was really funny, because there were loads of guys walking around, selling tickets for pretty much double the price we got ours for.
We had some lunch and an icecream, because it was so very hot, and then made our way into the arena area, had a quick look around, and then chose a spot in front of the stage. We managed to get pretty close, as not many people had arrived yet,, and everyone was sitting down, having picnics.
After waiting for half an hour, the first band came on at 4pm - Hypnotic Brass Enseble - who were basically rappers with trmpets xD They were ok, but not so great to listen to for half an hour =__=
After waiting for yet another half an hour, The Golden Silvers came on and performed - which was quite fun ^_^ I also managed to discover that I was the youngest person at the concert, after looking around for a bit 8D *proud face*
After waiting again, Crystal Castles came on and played - which was really awesome! The lead singer, Alice Glass was going absolutely bananas, after crawling onto the stage with a bottle of vodka in one hand! She was also wearing an epic t-shirt which said "Oasis has Aids" (Blur fans will probably understand why that's funny ;D)But overall, they were really great live ^_^
The last support band to come on before Blur were The Foals, who were really, really awesome - but by that time I had a stomach ache, which I guessed was probably hunger, so my dad kindly went off to get me some fish and chips, while I waited on my own --- scary! Because by this time, everyone seemed to be drunk! There were so many beer bottles, it was unbelievable! In the end, people just began chucking the (plastic) beer bottles across the crowd! While there was no one on stage, and we were waiting for Blur, my dad got talking to this really nice guy and his brother in front of us, who seemed very impressed that I had wanted to come to this concert - and that I play guitar
The bottle throwing really began to reach it's climax about 5 minutes before Blur came out, which was really funny, especially when one lady was up on someone's shoulders, and everyone just began pelting her with bottles!
Oh.
Finally Blur came on.

SERIOUS WOAH 8D
They were absolutely amazing. I really can't describe the atmosphere - and I can't believe that it was my first ever gig! By this time, the place was packed, and we couldn't avoid being shoulder to shoulder with complete strangers. But none of that seemed to matter when the band started playing, because everyone was just singing and jumping up and down - and there was this really tall fat guy in front of me - most like to be drunk - who was really Seriously going for it, and I ended up trying to get my dad to pull me out of a swell of people xD And actually, what I thought was hunger, turned out to not be that, because after eating the fish and chips, and copius amounts of fanta, I still had a stomach ache D: but, I bravely persevered and continued to dance and sing!
Please note, that I was indeed matching with Graham Coxon, as I decided to wear some tribute glasses ;D
Everything went crazy when they played song 2, and I very nearly got severly squashed by a girl who was on her boyfriends shoulders in front of us!
When we finally left the arena, we spotted this guy selling really cheap Blur t shirts outside, so I got one - the ones inside were like £22 O_oWe finally arrived back at the hotel, feeling like zombies, as my mum let us in to our room!

Day 2
After we eventually dragged ourselves out of bed, we went and enjoyed a massive buffet breakfast - hotel breakfasts are always the best ;D - and left to go to the British National Portrait museum where we also had lunch. Afterwards, we looked around the city a little bit, and then happened to stumble upon the TROCADERO centre 8D ...and we all know what's in there...TOKYOTOYS : D
After spending too much money, we headed off to the Tate Modern, which I thoroughly enjoyed ^u^
And finally, on that day, after eating at wagamamas and travelling on a traditional London bus, we went to see Derren Brown at the Adelphi theatre. Oh my kira. That was supper cool! Freaky and weird, but really awesome

Day 3
Today we went on a tour of the BBC which involved me getting a free BBC pen : D Our tour guides were really awesome ...Anthony and Janette I think? xD
After that, we went to Westfield mall and had lunch at the Butler's Chocolate Cafe - oreo milkshake and a cupcake
Afterwards we just walked around and ...dare I say it...we shopped a lot xDD We then tried to get a tube to cameden, but the one we needed right at the end, was out of service which was really disappointing, but we went to covent garden instead and caught a little bit of the gay pride parade 8D

Day 4
We only had half a day today, but most of the morning was spent at the V & A museum, which was actually really quite interesting. We had our lunch just outside in the little square in the museum , which we found was almost a little bit like a mini - paradise away from the rest of the city. I had a rasberry and chocolate muffin and some homemade lemonade ;D
Afterwards, we made a quick trip to Harrods - obviosly we didn't buy any of the rediculessly expensive stuff, but really enjoyed looking at just about everything! There was a hello kittly section, a couple of sushi bars, plenty of chocolate, Louis Vuitton (xD) and even an opera singer in the escalators!!


Sorry that was probably a long and perhaps boring rant, but I had a brilliant time in london and can't wait to go back again ^__^
